The Ballo Halloween campaign was an unconventional and thought-provoking photoshoot aimed at highlighting Ballo’s innovative, sustainable sunglasses. In this project, we stripped away the usual distractions—literally—by covering our models with simple bed sheets, leaving only the sunglasses to speak for themselves. The idea was to focus entirely on the product, removing any identity-based distractions like gender, race, or age, to highlight Ballo's commitment to sustainability and its bold vision.
At Mauja Media, we believe in the power of simplicity. For this campaign, we sought to convey the message that sustainability and innovation are at the heart of Ballo’s sunglasses, not the individual wearing them. By covering the models with bedsheets and using ghostly imagery, we ensured that the attention was solely on the sunglasses themselves, allowing the product to truly shine. The absence of traditional fashion or identity cues in the imagery reflects Ballo's core values—style and sustainability that transcend appearance and focus on purpose.
The shoot took place in various locations where we could experiment with lighting, shadows, and minimalistic settings. We intentionally kept the scenes simple, with the bed-sheet-covered models blending into their environments. The emphasis was on the frames, ensuring they stood out against the backdrop, surrounded by natural light and textures that aligned with Ballo’s commitment to nature and eco-friendly materials.
By covering the models with bed sheets, we created a sense of anonymity—emphasizing that Ballo’s sunglasses are for everyone. This allowed the brand's mission to shine through, focusing on its values of inclusivity, environmental consciousness, and forward-thinking design.
